The headquarters of the Moroccan-American Commission for Cultural and Educational Exchange (MACECE) in Rabat was the venue of an official meeting presided and coordinated by Mrs Rebecca B. Geffner, Executive Director of MACECE and Dr Bouchta El Moumni, President of Abdelmalek Essaâdi University (UAE). The meeting which took place on Monday, 22 November 2021 set a fresh context for a stronger and renewed partnership between UAE and MACECE. In his presentation, President El Moumni highlighted UAE’s academic programmes and main research projects and exposed the key objectives the University is determined to achieve in the short term. He called for a reinvented partnership that will serve the interests of both UAE and MACECE in line with the Kingdom of Morocco’s national policy in terms of giving priority to sustainable development, good governance, capacity building, and regional development. Director Rebecca Geffner also seized the opportunity to congratulate President EL Moumni on the quality of his presentation and reiterated the commitment of MACECE through its Fulbright programmes to accompany Abdelmalek Essaâdi University in the implementation of its research and academic projects. Mrs Geffner also stressed the necessity to maintain regular meetings between the two institutions and to explore all possibilities that will help promote research and open new gateways for academic and cultural exchange, especially between Abdelmalek Essaâdi University and peer institutions in the USA.
